Mark 1:41a

"... Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him... ."

'My Lord, I see that the leper was desperate, he got down on his knees, he wasn't demanding but impassioned with honor and respect, he implored, he reasoned with the power and authority of the Savior, and was hopeful Jesus would grant his request. These characteristics borne from a heart of great need caused something to happen within my Lord; His heart was moved with emotion that resonates with all of mankind, compassion. O', how I love compassion, especially from Jesus.

May I learn from the leper today, God. May I live in such a way that is desperate for Jesus, utterly dependent upon Him, asking with deference and faith in Your divine power, and submitting myself to whatever outcome You deem fit and necessary to bring about the greatest amount of glory to the King. Nothing is impossible with You, Lord; and while all things are possible, not all things will possibly turn out as I hoped. But may I trust and believe that whatever comes into my path and whatever result ensues from my prayers will be received with the truth that You're compassionate toward me, even moved when I present myself in a humble state before You. And then, God, may I go forth with the same Gospel grace given to me and likewise be moved with compassion toward those who also have great need, especially the downtrodden and those with a broken heart.

Thank you, God, for emoting such deep compassion for me, reaching out, touching me, and healing me from my diseased and sinful heart, and also opening my eyes to the light of truth. What a good God You are.'
